1. First you need to clean your nails thoroughly. Use nail polish remover, in case you can still see some polish traces then wash your hands with water and soap. Dry them well before you take the next step.
2. Clip your nails, getting rid of the brittle tips and file them to obtain the desired shape. Don’t cut them too short, as they will get even shorter after filing. Remember to file in one direction only to prevent nail exfoliation. It is important to avoid metal files because they can damage already fragile nails.
3. Use an oil or a treatment to soften your cuticles, but don’t cut them if possible. Just push them away with a wooden stick. This will help them grow slower, and in time you won’t have to cut them anymore, causing infections or irritation. Polish the surface of your nails with a special buffer to get a neat and shiny surface, and you are already half way there!
